Yeah, yeah. It's been ever since I wrote anything. But since I'm experiencing yet another ban from a sports forum, I'll try to get back into the habit. I mean, I can't let down all seven of my followers.
Over here to your left is Calliope, the muse of epic poetry. She's not much help. I've never been much of a poet, though I think every writer wishes to be such. Perhaps Clio, the muse of history, would be a better choice. I suppose blogging is a sort of record of history in a way, though not likely a history many people are very interested in learning.
But I will endeavor to persevere with or without the help of a muse to inspire me. Sometimes you just have to be your own muse.

Why did you get banned from SR?
Not exactly sure. There was some talk in a thread yesterday about a secret forum where some posters/mods shit-talk on other posters. I don't know if it is real or not. Said not to worry about it if it is. Another poster got banned who talked in that thread. Then I asked why they were banned. Immediately I got noticed that I was banned for "calling out mods/moderation." That wasn't my intent. I just wondered. I don't care if there is a "secret" forum or not. None of my business.

Who Dat is talking to me?
You do know that your ban is only for 7 days right?
Yes, I know. How you know?
It's no good now. I feel like I'll be on Double Secret Probation when I get back. Oh well. But I do miss everyone on the EE if that matters.
How do I know?
I'm in a position to know.
You won't be on any type of probation any more than any other poster who has been recently banned.
It wasn't explained to you very well but, if you have questions about actions taken by the staff it's always better to pm a member of the staff than to question it publicly.
That being said, staff will not normally discuss actions taken against a member with another member. Reasons for deleting threads and such will be discussed, but you need to contact the staff. The staff will take a fairly hard line against what can be percieved as public undermining.
As far as that goes, bans aren't set in stone. If you did not intend to undermine, did you at least reply to the pm you were sent in an effort to explain yourself? Staff members have reversed these things before.
Also, your ban might have simply been the result of accumulating too many points in too short a time period. If you had other infractions recently then the last infraction might have put you over the top resulting in an auto ban.
Either way, the best way to find out why is to contact the staff, not complain to the world at large.
This stuff is in the TOS you know. Have you bothered to read that?
No, I didn't respond to the PM. I just took my medicine. Why protest? A decision was made by the staff of a privately owned forum, and that's how it is. It's OK. The last thing I'm going to do if I'm in trouble is launch some kind of protest to the people who decided I was trouble in the first place. Seems to me that whining to them would make it even worse. I may be a rabble rouser, but I'm not a crybaby. So it's OK.
And yes, I understand about accumulating infractions. That was not the case as best I can tell. I had one infraction very early in my posting. I got another one that was reversed because there was a fluke in the language filter. When the moderator notified me of that infraction I did protest, but only because it was clearly a technical glitch and he agreed, thus the reversal. This ban is more subjective. After someone else brought it up, I discussed/commented on the notion that a secret forum exists and later I asked why someone was banned. If a moderator considers that to be "calling out" then I'm not sure I can change their mind.
My opinion? I think it's kinda silly. I think deleting that thread and banning people only promotes the idea that this secret trash-talk forum exists, and if it does exist that's the last thing I would want to do. But like I said, it's not my forum. I just play there. So it's OK. I'm not mad. This incident will not deter me from returning to Saints Report. I'm looking forward to it.
